The recently refurbished 60-bedroom Burlington Hotel is Folkestone's only graded 4-star hotel situated in the West End of Folkestone. The kitchen services hotel guests for breakfast, lunch and dinner, private functions including weddings and also offers an A La Carte menu to both residents and non-residents with freshly cooked British fayre using quality ingredients from local farms and suppliers. The Bay Tree Bar & Grill which resides in the hotel has recently been relaunched following a £500k refurbishment which includes a new large kitchen.

The hotel is part of a small family owned group of 3 hotels based in the south east of England so an opportunity for career progression is also available.

We are looking for a passionate Sous Chef to join our team who will report directly to the Head Chef and will be responsible for the following:

Helping to produce create new recipes and menus
Running the kitchen and leading the team when the head chef is away
Ensuring the brigade maintains high culinary standards
Managing food purchasing and storage
Maintaining a safe and hygienic kitchen environment
The ideal candidate must have the following attributes:

Hotel experience
A passion for food to help deliver an excellent dining experience
Excellent organisation and communication skills
The ability to work under pressure
A proven track record for the role being applied
Good interpersonal skills
The ability to work as part of a team
Live-in accommodation is available and is subject to charges. Applicants must be UK residents or eligible to work within the UK.

Salary package £24K subject to experience (plus Gratuities)
